BEAUTIFUL YORK

You can take a stroll along the medieval walls, explore York’s Gothic Minster which is the largest of its kind in Northern Europe and learn about the Vikings at the world famous Jorvik Viking Centre. Try sampling the chocolates at York’s Chocolate Story, wonder at the steam trains at the National Railway Museum, climb the steps at Cliffords Tower to marvel at the roof top views across York or take a leisurely boat ride along the River Ouse to view the Archbishop of York’s residence.

On a sunny day take a picnic or grab lunch from one of the many delis or food outlets, or relax and join local residents and other holiday makers in the Museum Gardens close to York Minster. Here you will find the ruins of St Marys Abbey which has in the past played host to York’s Mystery Plays.

Don’t forget to venture into the city on an evening as there is a plethora of restaurants to choose from and some great riverside bars offering stunning views for a relaxing evening drink.
